Cassidy Announces $169.2 Million in Hurricane Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced Louisiana will receive $169,155,731.75 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Hurricanes Laura and Ida relief.

“Families in Southwest Louisiana should not have to worry about losing power for weeks after a storm like Laura. This funding will reduce that worry,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Just like Laura, Ida devastated communities across south Louisiana, and this reimbursement is an important step towards recovery.”

Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative Inc., the Terrebonne Parish School Board, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will all benefit from this grant.
