Cassidy Meets with Labor Secretary Nominee Puzder
WASHINGTON—Today, US Senator Bill Cassidy, MD met with Andrew Puzder, current nominee for Department of Labor Secretary.
The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, on which Dr. Cassidy sits, will be holding confirmation hearings for Puzder’s nomination during the next Congress.
After the meeting, Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:
“Mr. Puzder and I had a great meeting. We spoke of how American workers need more opportunity for better jobs with better wages and benefits, and what is needed for this to occur,” said Dr. Cassidy. “He is enthusiastic about this task and brings a proven track record of creating opportunity. I will work to secure his speedy confirmation.”
