Cassidy Throws First Pitch at LSU vs. Southeastern Baseball Game

BATON ROUGE – On Tuesday evening, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) threw the first pitch at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, where the LSU Tigers played the Southeastern Louisiana Lions in baseball.

“If you and your family want to have a good time, spend a night at The Box,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Geaux Tigers and Geaux Lions!”

LSU defeated Southeastern in the game, with the final score being 8 to 4. This year, LSU is 20-6 and ranked ninth nationally, following their 2023 national championship season. The Tigers are again led by head coach Jay Johnson. Meanwhile, Southeastern is 17-8, under first-year coach Bobby Barbier.

Cassidy was thanked by Mr. Scott Woodward, the Athletic Director at Louisiana State University, for attending the game and supporting their school.

“It was great to have Senator Bill Cassidy throw out the first pitch at our game versus Southeastern last night,” said Mr. Woodward. “He is a strong supporter of LSU and our student-athletes, and we appreciate what he does for us. Geaux Tigers!”
