WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today released the following statement after voting no on the Udall Amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which would prevent the president from using any military funds toward a conflict with Iran without prior approval from Congress.
“We don’t want war with Iran. I agree with the president’s restraint, but if Iran threatens to attack again, we should leave all options open,” said Dr. Cassidy. “The Udall amendment would not allow all options to be open.”
