WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant the Lake Charles Harbor & Terminal District $7,428,192.48 and the City of Winnfield $1,115,021.66 for Hurricane Laura relief. The Lake Charles Harbor will use the funding to repair two collapsed ship loaders and Winnfield will make permanent repairs to the city’s electric grid.
“Countless people in Louisiana impacted by Laura are still recovering,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will finally make needed, long-term repairs to help get this community back to wholeness.”
