WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $22,539,337.00 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to reconstruct Runway 02/20 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. This funding comes from Cassidy’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
“MSY is the front door to Louisiana for millions of visitors each year,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Rebuilding this runway keeps New Orleans open for business, for Mardi Gras, and for all the people who fly here to enjoy our food, music, and culture.”
The project will reconstruct 7,002 feet of concrete runway, and this grant funds the final phase of that construction.
