Cassidy Celebrates Groundbreaking of New Lipsey’s Headquarters

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) last Friday spoke at the groundbreaking for the new headquarters of Lipsey’s Guns in Baton Rouge, which will open next year. Cassidy thanked Mr. Richard Lipsey and his team for creating jobs and supporting the Baton Rouge community.

“Lipsey’s is a family business committed to our state which made tough decisions in order to go from a good business to a great business, and we all benefit from them,” said Dr. Cassidy. “They went from one sporting goods store with a single location, to the largest gun wholesaler in the nation.”

Then known as S&S Wholesale Sporting Goods, Lipsey’s was founded in 1953 and has evolved into a major wholesale firearms and shooting-sports distributor, supplying products to gun dealers and retailers. Those products include handguns, rifles, shotguns, suppressors, optics, and accessories. They employ about 200 people in Louisiana.

Cassidy was joined at the groundbreaking by Mr. Richard Lipsey, who thanked the Senator for his attendance.

“Senator Cassidy, thank you for being here today,” said Mr. Lipsey. “Moments like this reminds us that Lipsey’s has never been about buildings, it has always been about people. Your support helps us continue serving our community with honor, excellence, and heart.”
