Cassidy Comments on Alexander-Murray Deal

Today, US Senator Bill Cassidy, MD (R-LA) released a statement following the announcement that Senate HELP Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Ranking Member Patty Murray (D-WA) have reached an agreement on a bipartisan healthcare deal to fund an insurance subsidy program:

“The Obama administration’s CSR payments were determined unconstitutional by a federal judge. President Trump asked congress to fix it in the short term. I agree. If combined with greater flexibility to allow states to lower costs, this will set the stage for replace through a mechanism such as Graham-Cassidy. I will study this proposal to see if it accomplishes these goals.”
