Cassidy Meets Job Creators in Livingston Parish, Discusses One, Big, Beautiful Bill

BATON ROUGE – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) Wednesday visited Livingston Parish where he met with small business owners to discuss how he and President Trump can help them create more jobs and prosperity in the parish. He first took part in an announcement by Pipe and Steel Industrial of a new fabrication facility in Denham Springs, where he was joined by company President Kylie Sparks.

“Kylie Sparks came from modest means,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Thanks to hard work and determination, he now has a large family and employs hundreds of people. He proves that anything is possible in Louisiana.”

Pipe and Steel Industrial provides pipe and steel fabrication facilities for industrial clients, including power, chemical and fertilizer plants. They currently employ over 250 people, and the new facility will create another 15-20 new jobs.

While there, Cassidy was joined by Mr. Sparks and other executives and employees at Pipe and Steel. He was also thanked for his attendance by Mr. Leon Badeaux, Vice President of Pipe and Steel Industrial.

“We at Pipe and Steel Industrial are proud to be creating new jobs in Livingston Parish, and expanding our local, privately owned business that has been a vital part of our community for decades,” said Mr. Badeaux. “We appreciate Senator Cassidy joining us today, to celebrate this achievement. This is good for our community, and the entire state of Louisiana.”

Later, Cassidy gave brief remarks at the State of the Parish luncheon for the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce. He complimented local business leaders on their success, and discussed how they can build on that success with his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

“Leaders in Livingston Parish want to meet the needs of their growing community,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Thanks to money from my infrastructure bill, they’re doing that by building new roads and reducing risk of flooding. They’re showing what’s possible for all of Louisiana.”

Cassidy has secured millions to build up Livingston Parish’s infrastructure through the IIJA, including over $11.8 million last September to elevate flood-prone homes in the parish. He is also working to fund the Browns Road Improvement Project, with $5 million currently in the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.

Additionally, Cassidy voted for President Trump’s One, Big, Beautiful Bill. It lets businesses permanently deduct the full cost of certain investments, including equipment, and allows a 20% Qualified Business Income deduction for sole proprietorships, partnerships, and S-corporations. It also makes permanent the Opportunity Zones program and New Markets Tax Credit. Most workers will also see taxes eliminated on tips and overtime.

Cassidy was joined by Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte, who delivered a State of the Parish Address. He also praised Cassidy for his support of Livingston Parish.

“I am so happy that Senator Cassidy was here today to join us at our State of the Parish address. Also met him this morning again at one of our announcements where they were doing expansion of a pipe and steel business. In addition to that, Cassidy is no stranger to Livingston Parish. He made the inauguration of the Livingston Parish President and all the council members. And that inauguration was held the same day the governor had his. There is only one senator that has been in Livingston Parish time and time again, and that’s been Cassidy,” said President Delatte.
