Cassidy Announces Over $194 Million for Louisiana Disaster Recovery, Emergency Preparedness, Airport Upgrades

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive a combined $194,624,299.69 in federal funding from the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The FEMA funding, totaling $171,468,901.69, will support recovery and emergency preparedness following Hurricanes Laura and Ida, the 2016 floods, and the 2023 Tiger Island Fire. The FAA funding, totaling $23,155,398.00 from Cassidy’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), will support airport improvements across the state.

“Louisiana is no stranger to storms, floods, and even wildfires. Recovery takes resources. This funding rebuilds schools, repairs hospitals, and restores the infrastructure families count on,” said Dr. Cassidy. “At the same time, when people come to Louisiana, their experience often begins at a local airport. These improvements will make that experience even better.”
